Post-Event Press Release Obuv. Mir Kozhi’2014. Spring

On 18-21 March 2014 Expocentre Fairgrounds (Moscow) hosted the 40th International Exhibition for Shoes and Leather Products – Obuv. Mir Kozhi’2014. Spring. It was a joint project of Expocentre ZAO and Italian company BolognaFiere. The show won official support of the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers (ASSOCALZATURICI) and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.

A high status of the largest specialized exhibition for shoes and leather goods is confirmed by the logos of approval by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).

Representatives of retail chains, stores, wholesalers and shopping centers from Russian regions and foreign countries carried out negotiations and made contracts with leading shoe manufacturers, among which Marino Fabiani, Mario Cerutti, Baldinini, Fabi, Loriblu, Nando Muzi, Ripani, Rebeca Sanver, Nursace, Poletto and many more.

On the exhibition space of 6,821 sq m 279 companies showcased the professionals promising collections of shoes for men, women and children, and leather products from Autumn/Winter 2014-2015. The specialized Salon of handbags, leather goods and accessories presented a wide choice of new products. Such famous global brands as Cromia, Gilda Tonelli, Braccialini, Valentino Orlandi, Di Gregorio, Ripani, Arcadia, Renato Angi, Chistian Lacroix showcased finished products, such as bags, belts, gloves, suitcases, etc.

The Obuv. Mir Kozhi’2014. Spring trade fair welcomed companies from Belarus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Republic of San Marino, Russia, Spain, and Turkey,

Traditional leaders of the tradeshow were Italian shoe manufacturers. They regard their participation in Obuv. Mir Kozhi as the most effective tool to promote their goods to the Russian market. Italy was presented by its national pavilion at the show.

The Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions project, designed to combat IP rights infringements, ran at the trade fair and was highly appreciated by specialists. 

The Business Contacts Exchange, the Specialists’ Contact Exchange (Labor Exchange) and the Customs Clearance Consulting Centre were open for participants and visitors to the show.

The 9th Business Forum, designed for specialists in the shoe industry, was devoted to discussion of relevant issues of the industry.

The Forum featured Andrey Arno’s master class on A Profitable Shop – 5 Success Factors, Which Each Director Should Know; seminars on Taxation in Retail, Technical Regulation and Customs Clearance Rules in the Customs Union and WTO; Internet forum on Shoe Business: Maximum Sales via Internet; seminars held by Fashion Consulting Group.

The 22nd International Final Competition for Footwear and Accessories Designers - SHOES-STYLE’2014 was held at the tradeshow. The 1st prize winners in Accessories nomination were Adriana Maria Lensdorf and Regina Weidental from Hochschuhle Niederrein (Germany); Veronika Íabalova from Kazimierz Pulaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom (Poland) was awarded the 2nd prize in Pret-a-Porter nomination.

The Obuv. Mir Kozhi trade fair is intended for professionals. The attendance figure amounted to 5,368 visitors.

International Exhibition Obuv. Mir Kozhi’2014. Autumn will run from September, 30 through October, 3, 2014 at Expocentre Fairgrounds and demonstrate Spring/Summer 2015 Collection.
