The 49th edition of the International Exhibition for Shoes and Leather Products

The trade show featured new collections of shoes and leather goods for autumn/winter 2018/2019 and provided new business opportunities. Manufacturers and buyers identified the latest trends in the footwear fashion in Russia for the near future. The exhibition enjoys good reputation in Russian and European consumer markets and is the centre of attraction for professionals in the footwear and fashion industries.

In comparison to 2016, the number of exhibitors grew by 10.8%.

Industry professionals from 24 countries and 78 Russian regions attended the show over 4 days. The number of visitors to the spring edition grew by 9.7%.

Show highlights

ICE – the Italian Trade Promotion Agency organized the second edition of a showcase presenting new Italian companies in the Russian market. Once again, the Italian pavilion had the largest number of exhibitors at the trade show. Marisa Florio, Director of the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, visited the show and highly praised the event's management.  

The Salon of Bags, Leather Products and Accessories offered products of such well-known participants as Cromia, Valentino Orlandi, Orlandi Marino, Di Gregorio, Ripani, Arcadia, Carlo Salvatelli, etc.

The Trend Tour was organized by Trendsquire and Expocentre AO. It was conducted by the founder of the Russian brand research bureau Trendsquire Ksenia Leri. This project was a success and will continue at the next edition of the trade show.

The Leather Accessories Trends zone showcased new collection of 19 exhibitors: Alexander-TS, Angi Venezia, Arcadia, Beitler, Carlo Salvatelli, Faetano, Ghibli, Giudi, Hymy Bags, Moia, Nicoli, Ripani, Roberta Firenze, Robinzon, Sara Burglar, Stampa Brio, Valentino Orlandi, Mia Donna, and Accent Gloves.

Supporting events

Supporting events were held for shoe and leather retailers. Experts talked about new shoe trends, held various workshops, and exchanged experience. The events were held by Expocentre in partnership with PROFashion, Arno Business School, AKFA, Trendsquire Bureau, SmartLines, Demis Group, VM GURU, and NLT Trade.

  • The Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions project operated online.  
  • The event program featured business seminars on the following topics:
    • Personnel training: non-financial incentives or how to invest and not waste time
    • HR Management 2018. How to build a dream team
    • The workshop on how to sign a foreign trade contract with suppliers from Italy, Spain, Turkey and other European countries and not to make mistakes in terms of growing government control over documentation. The legitimate shoe import into Russia
    • Trends vs preferences of the Russian audience
    • Import legalization and business security in terms of growing government control
    • How to increase sales at your website using responsive design
    • How to make an effective store of footwear and accessories and avoid mistakes from the outset

The main reporters were Astanda Chegia, Lead Stylist and Coach, PROfashion Consulting, Andrey Arno, Head of Arno Business School, Business Coach, Business Development Advisor, Alexey Chernyshev, Commercial Director of AKFA Group, Ksenia Leri, Founder of Trendsquire Bureau, graduated from Maryse-Eloy School of Art and Design in Paris, winner of iF Design Award, Teacher at British Higher School of Art and Design, Maria Kizhaeva, Deputy Financial Director, SmartLines, Natalya Kalinushkina, Head of Usability and Design Department, Demis Group, and Anna Balandina, Founder and Head of VM Guru Agency.   

Astanda Chegia held a workshop on salesman's appearance as reflection of DNA of astore and a key to customer loyalty. Mikhail Gusmanov, Head of NLT Trade, a known expert in LED lighting of stores, held a master class on how to create lighting that works better than sales managers.  

The Shoes Design Festival of Young Designers 2018 was oganized by the Kosygin Moscow State University of Design and Technology, and Expocentre AO.

The next autumn edition of Obuv. Mir Kozhi is to run from October 22 through 25, 2018. Location: Pavilion No.7 of Expocentre Fairgrounds.
