19 / 03 / 2009

Obuv. Mir Kozhi’2009. Spring – the 30th Anniversary International Exhibition for Footwear and Leather Products – will be held in Pavilions 4 and 7 of Expocentre Fairgrounds on March 23-26, 2009.

The exhibition has been held by Expocentre together with BolognaFiere (Italy) with the official support from the Italian Association of Footwear Manufacturers (ANCI) and under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation since 1997.

For 12 years, twice a year Obuv. Mir Kozhi, the largest international exhibition for footwear and leather products in Russia and the CIS countries, has brought together the world’s leading manufacturers of footwear and leather products at Expocentre Fairgrounds. The high international status of Obuv. Mir Kozhi is recognized with the labels of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and RUEF – of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

2009 is a jubilee year for Obuv. Mir Kozhi. It celebrates its 40th anniversary. Then, in 1969, the exhibition was named simply Obuv. Over 40 years it has greatly expanded its product list.

In 1997, Mir Kozhi was added to the exhibition’s name. Since that year it has been held twice a year, in spring and autumn. During all 40 years, it remains the most important footwear industry exhibition in Russia and the CIS countries.

This spring the world’s leaders in production of footwear and leather products will demonstrate their new collections. Russian specialists and designers will become familiarized with the autumn/winter 2009/2010 season fashion trends, modern design styles and the latest technologies, advanced materials and accessories.

The exhibitors will demonstrate footwear for women, men and children, home and leisure shoes, sports, rubber and felt boots, special and orthopedic shoes, new collections of designer footwear as well as finished leather goods such as garments and haberdashery including purses, belts, suitcases, gloves; sports goods, tanning materials and accessories; shoes, leather, fur and sheepskin care agents and so on.

About 300 companies from Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Serbia and Turkey will participate in the Obuv. Mir Kozhi’2009 Exhibition.

The total exposition space will be 14,800 sq m.

Among exhibitors of this jubilee edition there will be Mario Cerutti, Baldinini, Loriblu, Marino Fabiani, Giovanni Fabiani, Fabrizio Poker, Braccialini, Deboro, Declena España, Dissona, Fabi-Barracuda, Gode, Sasha Marchetti and others. The specialized salon of purses, leather haberdashery and accessories arranged for the sixth time is of a big interest for visitors and exhibitors.

Obuv. Mir Kozhi Exhibitions are oriented particularly for professionals as they can carry business negotiations and discuss professional issues.

Year after year, the numbers of visitors coming to exhibitions from every corner of Russia and the CIS countries is increasing. Representatives of trade networks, stores, wholesale warehouses have an excellent opportunity to establish business relations with the best world manufacturers and conclude contacts with them, thereby saturating the Russian market with high quality fashion footwear and leather haberdashery.

The Italian Exposition is traditionally the most representative. Participation of companies from Italy is state-supported.

It is well known that Russia holds the 4th place (value-wise) among the Italian footwear countries-importers. Italy is the second (after China) biggest supplier of shoes to Russia and an undoubted leader of high-quality production delivery.

Participation in Obuv. Mir Kozhi is of great commercial importance for Italian shoe companies as it allows increasing the significant part of external turnover for them. According to an ANCI representative’s information, 90% of Italian footwear is exported on a contract basis concluded during and after two of the largest exhibitions, MICAM SHOEVENT (Milan) and Obuv. Mir Kozhi (Moscow).

The Obuv. Mir Kozhi Exhibition traditionally offers every opportunity to establish direct trade contacts and to promote goods through representatives of wholesale companies and firms to different regions of Russia.
