The International Exhibition for Footwear and Leather Goods Obuv. Mir.Kozhi – Autumn’2007, held successfully at Expocentre Fairgrounds on October 23 – 26, 2007 put on display new collections of Spring/Summer’2008.

The exhibition is a joint project of Expocentre and Bologna Fiere (Italy). It is held with the official assistance from the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers (ANCI) and under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The Obuv. Mir Kozhi trade show has become the largest footwear and leather goods exhibition in Russia as well as in the CIS countries, which is attested by the Awards of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

The show saw world-renowned footwear and leather goods manufacturers submitting their best collections to scrutiny of the Russian customers. The show enjoyed participation of over 350 companies from Austria, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Russia, USA and Turkey. The Italian and Spanish companies were represented at their national expositions.

Italian stands remain the most representative at the Obuv. Mir Kozhi show. This time over 250 Italian companies showcased their collections. The main theme of their display was medium and high-priced footwear that enjoys steady demand in the Russian market. The Obuv. Mir Kozhi. exhibition gives Italian manufacturers a unique opportunity to study market expectations and establish direct contacts with distributors. According to Mr. Angelo Giannini, Vice-President of the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers (ANCI), speaking at the briefing devoted to the 27th International Exhibition for Footwear and Leather Goods Obuv. Mir Kozhi - Autumn’2007, since the beginning of 2007 export of Italian footwear to Russia has increased by over 30% and reached 3.5 million pairs of various footwear which is equivalent to 203.5 million euro, and the Obuv. Mir Kozhi trade show contributed a lot to the progress.

The Obuv. Mir Kozhi. international exhibition has a great effect on the development of the Russian footwear and leather goods market. The show has become a great platform to generate direct business contacts and promote goods to the Russian regions through various wholesale trading companies. The visitor attendance of the show hit 9 562. It was attended by 4 300 specialists from every part of Russia. Their work at the show resulted in new footwear supply contracts with the best international footwear manufacturers, namely: Pakerson, Trend, Stone Haven, Nebuloni, Baldinini, Dino Bigioni, Pareo, Fabi, Lori Blu, Mario Cerutti, Nouchka, Alberto Gozzi, Mario Bruni, Marino Fabiani, Fratelli Rossetti, Maros, Alima, Jocomomola, Barrats 1890, Kowalski, Hogl, Joika, Nobel, Good Man and many others.

The exhibition occupied 7 257 sq.m. of exhibition space and showcased not only various collections of footwear and leather goods. A great interest was shown in a specialized salon of bags and leather accessories, held for the third time.

New Fall-Winter 2008/2009 collections will be presented at the next 28th edition of the International Exhibition of Footwear and Leather Goods Obuv. Mir Kozhi – Spring’2007 that will run at Expocentre Fairgrounds on April 22-25, 2008.
